Croce del Pizzo San Martino
Un gruppo di abitanti di Vanzone, in Valle Anzasca, accogliendo l'appello di Papa Leone XII "a ornare le vette dei monti italiani di monumenti in omaggio a Cristo Redentore, all'alba del nuovo secolo", decisero di erigere una croce in cima al pizzo San Martino.
I lavori si conclusero nel 1902 ma l'inaugurazione avvenne solo il 12 agosto 1903. Così da allora, ogni 5 anni si ricorda quest'opera salendo sulla cima dove si celebra una messa.

Pizzo San Martino Kreuz
Nach dem Aufruf des Papstes Leone XII: "Schmtickt die Gipfel der italienischen Gebirge mit Denkmalen des Erlösers Christus, in der Zeit der Jahrhundertswende", einige Einwohnern vom Vanzone (Anzascatal) entschieden sich, eine Kreuz auf der Spitze des San Martino aufzustellen.
Die Arbeiten wurden im Jahre 1902 beendet. Das Kreuz wurde aber erst am 12. August 1903 eingeweiht. Seit a damals steigt man alle fiinf Jahre auf diese Bergspitze, um eine Gedachtnismesse zu halten.

Cross of the Pizzo San Martino
A group of inhabitants of Vanzone, in the Anzasca valley, welcomed Pope Leone the XII's appeal "to adom the top of the Italian mountains with monuments in praise of Christ the Redeemer, at the dawn of the new century" and decided to rise a Cross on top of the S. Martino Peak.
The works were finished in 1902 but the inauguration was made only on Aug. l2th, 1903. Since then, every five years this anniversary is remembered by the faithful who climb up to the top where Mass is celebrated.
